money and good attitude, the common inverse relationship

I was speaking to a doctor who treats lots of patients with depression.

She says that often people who have money do not have the good attitude towards fellow human beings including friends and families

and

those who have good attitude often do not have money!

both makes one depressed

This does not have to be the dictum and

let us change it,

hopefully when people with money show good attitude

and which in turn

would get people with good attitude to have more money

hope it makes sense

the second quality one aspires to have, after Humility

in my last blog, we touched on humility

the only other quality if we want to keep things simple to aspire for is

"thankfulness"

there are various theories on the origin of this word thank

simplest of all is

"to think= thank" or thought or thoughtfulness

think of others who are part of your life and say thank you.

“God gave you a gift of 84,600 seconds today. Have you used one of them to say thank you?”

humility, what does it take to be humble!

When one sees death up and close and personal, it is humbling

when one understands that we are merely mortal, then you become humble

when one understands that we are no body when facing the nature which is not nice to you such as a tsunami

then you understand that the humility is one of the two essential qualities of people who are considered to be great

i will share the next quality

in my next blog

dont be the object which rolls inside a rattle

wearing a seat belt inside a car is considered by many car users in India as unnecessary.

inside a rattle, few plastic or metal balls roll and hit the inside with such a force that it causes the sound to make a child happy and attentive

don't be like that object inside a car when involved in a road traffic accident

the initial impact of the accident itself does not often kill or harm you

it is the rattle effect inside the vehicle which would harm you

if you understand what i mean

duty, gift in the line of duty and bribe! What do you do if people get confused with these three.what is the best way if there is one?

the parking attendant in the car park of a five star hotel is employed for a reason.

this person is employed to do a job.

He may or may not get enough money or salary from the job

but the job he does becomes his duty.

He or She  is happy if you give him or her something to appreciate the care he took doing the job

this then becomes a gift in the line of duty.

if he is unhappy if you do not give him something, because of two reasons.

and he expects either thank you or "something"

in essence "he feels that he or she is not recognized for what he is doing"

but if what he expects is not just thank you but "something"

then this something becomes a bribe.

where do we go from here?

Always say thank you

do not offer anything in the line of duty [other than salary which is given by the employer]

even if you want to give "something", since you want to be nice, do not give anything

but always say thank you with eye contact with all the sincerity you want to show

hope this makes sense

are you taking your child safely inside the car while travelling

I note that the car travel has increased tremendously in India

Are the parents taking enough care with reference to the safety of children in the cars?

For example, how many of us are aware that we should not have our child seated in the front passenger seat fitted with an front passenger air bag?

how many of us are aware of the car seats for children

please refer to the following site

had a situation where i asked over the phone to one family member to feel for the pulse. but could not do it

any one should be able to check their own pulse or another

this can be very important if a doctor or a nurse is not immediately available in medical emergency

can mainly help in communicating to a doctor or a nurse
